It appears that after a horribly long wait, Channel 10 are finally going to give us Supernatural season 5. It is apparently going to be a 2 hr ep starting at 8.30 on either Monday the 23rd of November or Monday the 30th of November.

Normally I would be jumping around all excited and I am excited but I'm going to miss other shows i've been watching, namely The Vampire Diaries. Plus this week is the last Ashes To Ashes for season 2 which is easy enough to tape but I can't tape Vampire Diaries because it's on HD.

There is also the fact that SPN will be moved to 9.30 therefore I will miss Misha's episode of Nip/Tuck which is on in a couple of weeks because that is also on HD.

I actually though that Ten would hold off until January when the season 4 boxed set is out but obviously not.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next seven sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
6. Tag five other people to do the same.

"Who better to open for Reed than a young band, with a school boy guitarist, with what many assumed to be a name with bisexual connotations?

The tour was national and as such was a prime promotional opportunity for AC/DC.
At a Melbourne show during the tour, when it was discovered that AC/DC's use of the sound system was to be drastically cut, Malcolm exploded and jumped on the phone to George.
Dave Evans: 'George flew down to Melbourne immediately. He fucking went up to the guys [Lou Reed's sound technicians] and said, "You give these boys the fucking lot!" and he stood by the fucking PA, by the mixer. He made sure that we fucking had the full rig. Nobody fucks with George Young, man!'
It was in Perth during the Reed dates that a major shift of responsibilities took place within the band."

Bought this book for my Dad for Father's Day this year. May have to read it when he's done with it. Real nice of him to leave it within reach :)

Extract from 'Supernatural: Nevermore' (no spoilers):

"Soon's I started reading 'The Tell-Tale Heart,' I remembered it from that stupid class I took back at that crappy Catholic school in Illinois. But this Rue Morgue story..." He trailed off.
Sam shrugged as he sipped his coffee. "What can I tell you, Dean, it was revolutionary at the time. And hey, if it wasn't for that story, we probably wouldn't have
CSI today."
"No loss," Dean said. "There's better things on Thursday nights anyhow."

Lol, indeed there is, Dean ;D

25 years ago this week, U2 played my beautiful city for the very first time. I wasn't even born then but almost.

They played two shows on the 23rd & 24th of September 1984. They were the last two shows in the first leg of The Unforgetable Fire Tour.

From U2 Setlist Archive:

"09/23/1984 Entertainment Centre - Perth, Western Australia, Australia
not available

09/24/1984 Entertainment Centre - Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Out Of Control, Twilight, An Cat Dubh, Into The Heart, The Unforgettable Fire, Surrender, Two Hearts Beat As One, Seconds, Sunday Bloody Sunday, The Cry, The Electric Co., I Fall Down, October, New Year's Day, Pride (In The Name Of Love), Gloria
encores: Party Girl, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, I Will Follow, 40
comment: Last ever performance of Twilight. Last performances of An Cat Dubh and Into The Heart until March 2005."

I wish they'd hurry up and play here again but the latest dates I saw on @u2.com today don't look encouraging. At this point I'm betting on March 2011 for us.

I've just discovered that Australia isn't getting Supernatural season 4 on DVD until January next year.

What reject came up with that idea I wonder? So not fair :(

AUSTRALIA IS GETTING SUPERNATURAL 5 ON SEPTEMBER 28!

Yes, you read that right. Apparently Channel 10 "feels our pain" and are going to fast track it. 3 weeks late mind but still.

The only downside is that they are moving Dexter to accommodate it. Dexter will now be on at 11.30 on Saturday nights starting October 4.

Oh well. You win some, you lose some. I'll still be downloading SPN though.

Almost lost my little brother yesterday.

He and his two mates, Timmy and Jacques, were on their way to Collie (about 200 km south of Perth) for a Drift competition. Eoin and Timmy were in Timmy's 4WD and Jacques was in his 4WD towing his drift car on a trailer. Jacques 4WD blew is radiator so they put it on the trailer for Timmy to tow and while he drove the drift car. I don't know how far out of Collie they were but the trailer started to sway really bad and Timmy couldn't control it and they half drove up the back on the side of the road as the trailer tried to jackknife and Jacques 4WD came lose from the trailer and flipped over onto Timmy's 4WD and came down on the roof, partly caving it in. Mum says someone must have been watching over them all as no one was hurt thankfully but it could have been so much worse. A few inches forward and Timmy would be dead.

Mum and Dad went down and picked the boys up from Collie hospital and Eoin stayed with us for the night.

In happier news, I spent today at my sister's place celebrating my youngest nephews first birthday and Father's Day at the same time.

Oscar was gorgeous as always and my sister made an awesome cake for him which my brother-in-law decorated.

My brother-in-law was given a remote control Dalek for Father's Day which was really cool.
I want one myself now. Looks like I might be going to Supernova with him next year too.
